Bavarian Bread Dumplings (quite easy)
Ingredients:6-8 dinner rolls (at least 2 days old)
½ cup milk
Parsley
1 onion
1 tblsp. butter
Salt
3 eggs
bacon
nutmeg
1.Cut the rolls in thin slices and put it in a big bowl. Heat up the milk and pour over it, let it sit for 20 minutes.
2.Wash and dry the fresh parsley, cut it small. Peel the onion and cut in small cubes. Heat up the butter, put the onions in
and also the bacon until done. Boil water in a big pot and put salt in it.
3.Mix the bread with eggs, onions, bacon, and parsley. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg, try for taste. Then with wet hands
form small round dumplings and put them in the hot water in the pot (not boiling) and cook it for about 20 minutes.
It’s really good, goes well with pork or chicken.
