Clean tarnished silver

People who have sterling cutlery know it. The cutlery tarnishes after a while. But there is an easy and cheap way to get shiny sterling cutlery:

All you need is a bowl with some aluminium foil. Do your sterling cutlery in the bowl fill it with hot water and add some salt.
After a few hours your cutlery is clean and the aluminium foil black.

Works also with silver jewellery.
