How to clean kitchen surfaces - use liquid laundry detergent

We all have to clean our kitchens once in a while and from all the cooking, it is unavoidable that a layer of grease or other dirt stays on surfaces like on the cabinets, counters, etc.

If you do your spring kitchen cleaning - you know you have to get a small ladder to get to the top of the kitchen cabinets and clean them or the top of the fridge, etc. Things you would not clean on a daily basis.
I have tried many cleaners to get rid of the layers of grease, etc but the one thing that worked the best for me was a liquid laundry detergent.
Liquid laundry detergent takes the grease right out and the surfaces are very easy to clean without much scrubbing at all. And you get a nice smell from the laundry detergent.
The degreaser in the laundry detergent is much stronger than the one in the dish soap, so everything is done so much faster.
However, don't use laundry detergent on glass surfaces as this will smudge.
