Limiting sugar consumption helps to lose weight
Especially white sugar increases your blood sugar level dramatically. Through too much insulin fat won't burn as fast.Also you are hungry faster, as your blood sugar level goes down quickly after the intake of sugar. If your body gets too many carbohydrates (as they are found in sugar) it will be stored as fat.
Don't underestimate this if you switch from chocolate and gummi bears or similar stuff - they are low in fat, but still contain a lot of sugar. Therefore reduce the consumption as well.
Instead of sugar, I use fruit sugar, it has the same calories as sugar but it does not get your insulin level up as much as if you used sugar. It is also sweeter than regular sugar, therefore you need less of it. You can also use it for baking or deserts.
Also most processed meals contain a lot of sugar, things like tomato sauce, breads or mixed veggie packages - glucose, fructose, sucrose, etc.
So when you go shopping check the list of ingredients and remember anything with the ending of "ose" is bad sugar for you so stay away from those products.
