Orientation in foreign cities without a city map

I own a small digital camera, but I don't have good orientation in cities I don't know. When I do park in a different city, I take a picture of the street sign. On my way through the new city, I take pictures of some signs or landmarks once in a while so I know where I am. This turned out to be a good thing and I always found my way back to my car. Of course, this is only for people who don't really memorize where they parked their car, etc.
