Proper comparison of prices

You already know this that you should compare prices before you shop. You also have to be aware of the price per pound or grams etc. Once in a while you might not be comparing the right stuff. Therefore I recommend that you have a small notebook in your purse or even use your cell phone to input some data. While you shop you can write down the prices of different products for comparison later. Especially products like rice, pasta, milk, eggs, etc. or toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner.

If you have such a list, it is much easier to compare prices between different stores. It gets a bit more complicated when you shop for produce as this changes constantly depending where the produce comes from and what season it is. But you can still find out where to get it for the most reasonable price. Of course, it would not make sense to drive an extra 10 or 20 kilometres just to get a better deal. Use common sense and you can save quite a bit of money, especially as we have seen the rise in groceries over the last few years. Every little bit helps.
