Removing wax from silver candle holder

Especially right now in the Christmas season, we all put on lots of candles, at least we do in my family. And even if you have the so-called non dripping candles, there is still wax in the candle holder which is a pain to clean. So boil some water, pour it in the sink and put the candle holder (silver) into the boiling water and let it sit for a while. My candle holder comes apart and I put all the smaller pieces into the hot water. Then I use a light scratch pad and remove the toughest wax spots after it has been sitting in the water for a while. Dry with a tea towel after and the silver candle holder looks like new again. It is a bit of work but worthwhile the effort.
