Salt against dampness

If you have a damp room or basement take about 15 packs of salt and pour it into a bucket and put in the damp room. Once in a while mix up the salt with a big spoon (every 2 weeks) as the salt on top gets firm due to the dampness. I use new salt about three times a year and my basement or damp room is dry.
