Something about Avocados
Avocados are ripe when you can press the end of the stem. Hard avocados are not very tasty. If you want them to ripen quicker, put them in a bowl, a paper or plastic bag. Add a banana or an apple. The oils of the fruits accelerate the ripening of the avocados. Put a plate on a bowl and close the bags.Repeat the pressure test once in a while so that the avocados don't get too soft. When you cut an avocado, spray it with lemon juice right away, so that it will not turn brown on you.
Avocados have a fat content between 5-30%, however, this is a healthy fat which will be absorbed by the body and even lowers the insulin level, which naturally starts the burning of the fats.
Avocados won't make you gain weight, only the filling or whatever you eat with them do.
