The idea
We, Bernhard Finkbeiner and Hans-Jörg Brekle, two guys from Germany, had the idea for a housekeeping and cooking web site in summer 2003. We hung out and needed something to eat. After visiting a supermarket we chose to cook boiled potatoes, mexican vegetables and European Wieners. But we did not have a clue about how to boil potatoes (we were bachelors who just moved out a year ago - so what are you expecting?).So what did we do? We did the one thing that every young man would do in this situation: Hans-Jörg called his mom who told us how to boil potatoes.
After getting off the phone it struck us. Although boiling potatoes is pretty easy, we did not know how. That had to change! So we founded the German website "www.frag-mutti.de" ("ask mommy").
We knew: boiling potatoes was one of the easiest things - but we did not know how. We wanted to change this circumstance...
Things are getting started...
The German website was launched in September 2003. The English version AskMom.net exists since spring 2006.
Our German sister web site "frag-mutti.de"
